What areas does KCG serve?
We serve commercial and industrial facilities across Northern and Central New Jersey. Our core service area includes Morris County, Bergen County, Essex County, Hudson County, Union County, Somerset County, Monmouth County and Passaic County, with regular work throughout the region. Our office is in Moonachie, NJ — centrally located for fast response across the area.
What types of buildings do you work on?
We work on commercial and industrial properties of all types: office buildings, warehouses, supermarkets, pharmaceutical facilities, server rooms, schools, nursing homes, banks, restaurants, department stores, and religious buildings. We do not perform residential HVAC work.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold NJ HVAC contractor license #19HC00737600. We carry full commercial liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage. We are happy to provide certificates of insurance upon request.
What brands of equipment do you service?
We service all major commercial HVAC and refrigeration manufacturers including Carrier, Trane, Daikin, York, Lennox, Mitsubishi, Rheem, Hussman, Bohn, Copeland, Emerson, Kysor-Warren, and Russell. We also work with Honeywell Tridium and Trane Tracer building automation systems.
Do you offer preventative maintenance contracts?
Yes. Our PM programs are custom-designed for each facility based on your equipment, usage patterns, and operational needs. Maintenance contracts include scheduled inspections, filter and belt changes, coil cleaning, refrigerant checks, controls calibration, and priority scheduling for service calls.
How quickly can you respond to a service call?
Response time depends on the nature of the issue and current call volume. For PM contract customers, we provide preferential scheduling. For emergencies, we dispatch as quickly as possible — typically same-day for critical heating or cooling failures. Call 973-335-3884 to reach our dispatch.
Do you handle building automation systems?
Yes. We install, program, and service building automation systems including the Honeywell Tridium Niagara platform, Trane Tracer, BACnet-integrated controls, and other open-protocol systems. We also handle migrations from older pneumatic or proprietary controls to modern BAS platforms.
What is the NJ Direct Install program?
Direct Install is a New Jersey utility-sponsored program that covers up to 80% of the cost of qualifying energy efficiency upgrades for small and mid-size commercial buildings. The remaining balance is financed at 0% interest on your utility bill. KCG is a qualified Direct Install partner for NJ Natural Gas, JCP&L, PSE&G, and Rockland Electric.
What upgrades are covered by Direct Install?
Qualifying upgrades include HVAC tune-ups, thermostat and controls replacements, boiler reset controls, economizers, VFDs, LED lighting, and refrigeration improvements such as LED case lighting, occupancy sensors, and defrost controls. Eligibility depends on your utility account and monthly demand.
Can you help reduce our building’s energy costs?
That is a core part of what we do. Our energy management services include building automation, VFD installation, controls upgrades, and utility rebate coordination. Most commercial buildings have significant energy waste in their HVAC systems that can be addressed with targeted upgrades. We typically see savings of 15% to 30% on HVAC energy costs.

Do you work on boilers and heating systems?
Yes. Boiler maintenance, repair, and installation are a significant part of our HVAC work. We service gas-fired and oil-fired boilers, perform combustion analysis, handle boiler efficiency tuning, and install boiler reset controls. In older Northern NJ buildings, the boiler is often the single largest energy consumer, and proper maintenance makes a substantial difference.
